Tooth decay and gum disease are quite common in the mouth, and most people don’t know they have a problem with it until it’s too late.
It is recommended to visit our surgery every six months for a routine check-up and scale and clean, so that problems can be detected early. X-rays may be taken as they are the most diagnostic tool a dentist has, and these allow the dentist to see inside the tooth and under fillings.
We recommend x-rays every two years, unless a special situation arises and then an x-ray is required to make a diagnosis. X-rays provide an overall view of your mouth and helps treat problems that may go undetected otherwise.
